My name is Ethan Thompson and I am the owner of Thompson Droneworx
I started this business in 2020 after using drones for the last few years and seeing how much they can help other companies. The drone service industry is still new and many companies do not know how much they can benefit from the use of drones. I have spent the last two years learning about and flying drones. The one thing to understand about the drone service industry is that a drone is a tool, not the product. What you can do with that tool is what’s important. There are tons of people that can go out and put a drone in the air and take pictures or videos. The main question is do they know what to do with them? To ensure that I can deliver a high quality product, I have taken courses through Drone Launch Academy to improve my skills in editing. This is where your product comes to life and I take a lot of pride making sure it does just that.
I am a FAA Part 107 Certified Remote Pilot. That means that I have passed a test composed by the FAA that states that I understand the rules for flying drones as well as aeronautical information necessary to perform flights safely. This is a legal requirement in order to perform commercial work.
Our Equipment
In most cases, we capture our shots with the DJI Mavic 3, Phantom 4 Pro and Cinelog25. They are well-known drones in the industry capable of taking high quality images and video. They are all equipped with 4K cameras. We also use ND filters that allow us to capture shots in bright conditions and maintain the quality that is expected.
